It was a long 8 months since I last went into the forest for a night of camping. Historic annual snowfall and late winter storms kind of have that effect on things in the mountains. When word came through that a group was heading into Stanislaus National Forest to a site I hadn’t been to before, I hopped on quickly! This spot was a perfect weekend getaway, even for just a night. Only a short trail jaunt from the main highway, it’s epic location was perfectly nestled next to a river underneath the pines.
I took the dog, and a bunch of donuts to meet up with the group, most of whom had been there since the previous day. The weekend can be summed up in a few simple words: beer, river, frisbee, bonfire, relaxing.
