We spend a weekend in Los Padres National Forest with some friends that we had been wanting to camp with for a long time. The area is familiar to me so I knew the weekend would be busy out there. Thankfully with some searching we found a little slice of heaven away from the crowds to stay for the night and enjoy the California Coast. Small trips like these really remind you about how good it can be close to home. Remember, when visiting crowded areas such as the Big Sur coast, go out of your way to leave it better than you found it. Places like this will be shut down if they are abused, meaning no one can enjoy them! I want to take my future kids here to enjoy this special part of California!
